It's California they can just pull water from the ocean and desalinate water for consumption.
Very sorry to hear of your worries. Australia is the driest continent on earth and South Australia the driest state. Going back perhaps 5 years we were in the grips of a very serious drought. Whyalla pulls water from the Murray River via the Morgan Pipeline. The Murray got so bad we were facing eutrophication of the river system. Then the rain came and the rivers banks broke. It was chaos as rescuers removed families from their homes. It was a scary time, but it did end. Hope you guys get some relief soon.
I saw the CFR extractor a while ago but what concerns me about the unit is that it continuously recycles cleaning solution. This means that effectively, after a while you're rinsing the carpet with pre-spray not good.

In Concord (CA) back in 76 we had severe rationing and had plastic milk jugs to fill our toilet tanks. My mom poured some bleach in the bowl daily and said no flushing between me and my brother until a #2. Salinity from the SF Bay come up the Delta even 10 miles past Antioch. Can't find many folks who remember this, Cali has had huge number of transplanted folks since then. But the same thing is coming and ya know Mike it really truly could effect the amount of water we use for extraction, yikes.

Santa Barbara built a desalinization plant only to take it off line after a few years of good rain.
We need less lawns more desert scapes
