Got a call from one of our best commercial clients, a water damage firm, to help extract water from a commercial building. Only problem was crossing 100' of flooded water that was 2 foot deep. we loaded the vans on a semi flatbed to make the crossing. had to dump gravel along yhe way to keep the truck moving. Also the first time ive ever gone back and forth to a job by rowboat. Awesome day!

their extraction truck was tied up so they would have likely lost the job if we didn't show up, we'll get paid big time on this one, going back tomorrow and possibly Sunday

Garretsville, Chris??
Barberton, maybe??
Both got pounded BAD

you guys wouldn't believe the amount of rain we got in the area Wed evening.
I've seen some steady heavy rains and plenty cloud bursts in my 55 years of life here, but I can't recall a heavier cloud burst that lasted as long as it did
The rain gauge at the Mantua fire station overflowed Wed evening (only goes to 8")
I bet I got 4" or better in 2 hours at my house .

Wow! If we get 2-inches in an hour we get some serious flooding.

4-8 inches sounds like 100K or more of work.

We could stand that inconvenience! :winky:

We have not had rain in a week, we could use a little before everything burns up.

We had 4 inches over in Youngstown area. Really no calls other than basements filled to the floor joists with sewage. I ain't touchin' those.

Spent about 6 hours yesterday extracting hard to reach areas after the guys pressure washed the warehouse floor, they had 4 autoscrubbers running over the open areas. The demo crew was tearing out the fabric panels in the office, and starting on the carpet tear out. Huge project for sure but I think our part is done for now, may still get some tile cleaning out of it before all is said and done. All in all spent about 20 hours there this weekend and made more than an average summer week, so :very_drunk:

We're about to go into drought stage 4 in my part of Texas. It's raining down here, we just aren't getting it. They've asked homeowners not to fill their pools, no watering of yards, you can water trees for 20 minutes every other day. The city pool will close at the end of the month. It's bad. I live in the country and had three house wells 2 years ago, down to one and its almost gone. Praying for rain.

Good luck Amy, I'm sure it will get to you eventually, if the rest of the country is any indicator, been a crazy weather year. We were in a drought throughout all last summer, not to that degree though..

IT IS RAINING. IT's RAINING! Please let it be more than .2 of an inch. That's what we usually get.

I realize I’ve turned this into a weather post, but we got 2 inches on one of our places! We’ve got yearlings that have never ever seen rain before. They came from South Texas 2 months ago. Planned on shipping them next week, but now they get to stay! YEAH! I can’t wait to see if we got any runoff from the heavy rain. We dug 2 new stock tanks that I hope caught some water. It’s a good day even though all of our cleaning appointments cancelled! Nobody down here likes to get their carpets cleaned when it’s raining.

Oh, and now that it’s rained we can knock down some mesquite trees, too! It’s a GREAT DAY!

We had 16 days straight of rain with heavy storms and a handful of tornados hit the area.

I lost power a few times. One of the storms brought marble sized hail with 70 mph winds. 4 windows were knocked out of house and my car was damaged. House is fixed... and insurance already paid.

Car has a few dents. I had a few knicks in my hood from stones from some of the backroads we have here...Thinking about paying a little extra to have the car repainted while theyre fixing the hail damage.

Should be all caught up by the ebd of the day and back on track.

We are dry here. We could use a little rain just to keep things green. I haven't cut the grass in nearly two weeks but I plan to tonight, it looks a little shaggy but not much growth.
