When giving advice i try to lose as much techno mombo jumbo as possible to get the information across and sometimes i dilute it too far. For those techmo geeks this one's for you

According to Dwain's chart, Amsoil Severe Gear SAE250 is too heavy. I would just order some Aeon, but it appears my distributor is closed for the holidays, as is PD Blowers.

I have some Amsoil Severe Gear 75W-90, which is too light.

Will try mixing 250 with 75W-90 for now. Or pick up some quality SAE 90 gear oil.

Thanks, Dwain!

Don't ever follow my advice or you'll end up a BDCC!

my 47 has been very good to me since 2003. I bought the high heat roots.
drained, cleaned her up, refilled…sounds and sucks better then ever. A few extra bucks for oil verses $3k plus new replacement well worth it.
Was quoted $1,200 to drop off and have my 47 serviced/rebuilt. my have it done at some point but runs great at the moment.

Where do you buy Roots oil? I don't dispute the wisdom of using the best when you can find it.

I think now you're just splitting hairs now if you look at the picture of the aeon bottles 1 says gardner Denver which is sutterbuild it's like pump oil , i have a hypro pump but i use cat oil in it instead of hypro oil because i can get cat oil from home depot and id have to special order hypro , it is more important the frequency of service intervals than which brand of blower oil you use when i built frankinstien i retired a 47 blower that was new in1991 and passed down thru 3 machines and has approximately 14,000 hours on it but i changed the oil in it every time i changed the pump oil 500 hour intervals

why did the cool purple need to retire? Couldn’t it be rebuilt? Cracked housing?

It doesn't need rebuilding it still runs fine, when i built frankinstien i wanted a new machine . Not another machine built from used parts. Properly maintained The machine i built has a life expectancy of 20 to 25 years. It is replacing a 23 year old steamgeni pto(now delegated to be a backup machine) , this machine is solid stainless steel construction, 50gallon wastetank ,machine tins and custom filter box no brass fittings all stainless. It started life as a 1998 steam geni 45 pto it has the best of the best cleanco engine mount with steamgeni drive shaft Cleanco's water to water heat exchangers with hydramaster salsa afterburner, prochem/comet waste pump ,hypro pressure pump roots 47 blower, prochem/general chemical pump, custom electrical distribution prochem waterpond with modified mytee shelf across back custom narrowed side shelving custom modified crash screens all installed in a 2020 chevy 6.0L extended van all pieces custom powdercoated no paint all in chicken feathers everything $61,000

Forgot, the control panel is 24k titanium gold plated polished stainless steel sent to Nova Scotia to be lettered, they were the only company to return my emails about silkscreening on 24k gold

Probably how it should have been done in the first place.

The steamgeni pto is and was a great and highly reliable machine, but i want to do tile and grout and the heat exchangers won't handle the pressures necessary for that and thats what started this whole project, i looked into buying a new machine to do tile and grout and was very disappointed with what is out there, as it stands my 23 year old steamgeni backup machine will probably outlast anything on the market that i could buy now. It was my supplier that convinced me to build frankinstien i started building 2/19 finished the machine 10/19 started looking for a van then covid hit 2/20 bought the van 12/21 started the installation 1/22 completed it and put into service 9/22 have about 200 hours on it so far

But the genies never turned over what...15-1600 rpm's?
Olive oil probably would have sufficed.
The driveshaft turns about that, frankinstien is set at 1300 engine rpms driveshaft rpms are 1850, blower is 2950 and that is around the same for my stock sg 45pto. Other steamgenis were screamers the hydro 1 & 2 spun the blowers at max 3600rpm. The hydro1 had 2 blowers in series one blower rammed air into the other, blower #2 got really really hot. The blowers on the 1&2 where pretty small back then , sutterbuild 3m

What kind of Shelby? I have a 14 GT500.
Came close to trading it on a new one but couldn't give it up.

Depends on who you talk to as for me i know no other machine my first machine was a rinse n vac rental i stepped up to a steamgeni 731 portable in 1978 then to a new 733 portable in 79. 83 i bought my first and only new truckmount a hydro2 then a used hydro 1 then i started with the pto's in 1999 i briefly owned a sizzler but bought it from a competitor fixed it and flipped it, then when steamgeni went out of business a friend of mine in Sacramento was a distributor and ran 7 steamgeni pto's and replaced 1 of his machines every year i made a standing offer for his entire fleet. Nobody wanted um then. So for me steamgenis are great in 45 years of business they have only broke down 4 times that i couldn't finish the job, once my hydro1 burnt a set of points on the onan, on the hydro2 they bolted the pump pully to the vacuum pully and i sheared the bolts, once i sheared off the end of the driveshaft on mt 1991 47 pto and once a transmission went out while cleaning also the 91 i dont think their is any other machine on the market today that can top that, sure ive had breakdowns other than that but with the parts carried on the van i was able to continue working and finish the job, my nearest supplier is 5 hours round trip away so im pretty self sustaining, im regularly 1 or 2 hours from home base, this picture is of frankinstien's onboard spare parts locker belts hoses and brass fittings spare wand valves, bypass regular etc. etc.
