I booked a job today that is 3000 sq. ft. of wall to wall brown wool carpet. The carpets are heavily soiled, with what the client describes as food and beverage spills. These stains are every where, and are brownish in color. They are lighter brown than the carpet, but look alot like pet stains. The client said no pets ever. At first glance, they appear as though they will be tough to remove especially since the carpet is wool.

Other than stain majic for wool is there something else that might help?

I can see it from here. She is lying. Pet urine for sure. She is just too embarrassed to admit it.

Probe, or UV light it. My money sez pet urine.

Of course, you do not have to tell her that- which would make her out to be a liar.

Just deal with the problem like a professional- whatever it takes.

Now, there might be another cause. Possible but unlikely. Residue from Resolve or other spotter.

I would probe first- then UV. then dampen to check for detergent residue.

Depending on what you find, which way to go.

Urine sounds pretty spot on to me.

A moisture sensor will probably confirm this.

Check outside of the stain also.

And don't forget the "Olfactory sense test".

It may also be mild bleach, so also check for fiber deterioration.

Ooroo,
