Let us say that you needed a laptop to process incoming calls. Is there a way to do that away from wifi or a wired connection? I have a part timer who, working for an insurance company from home, would like to become mobile (and make more college money for her son) by working jobs with me.

Feel free to explain in simple terms!

Without knowing exactly what she is doing there shouldn't be anything she can't do in the field.

The laptop can connect to wifi, she can get a hardware cellular hotspot device from her cell company, or use her cellphone as a wifi hotspot

tether her devices from phone to lap top?
of course any store you walk into may be inclined to sell you something and leave out the part that you can do it without paying for an extra connection etc.

We just bought a 2-in-1 Chromebook so my wife can book jobs on the go.

Works great, but the bummer is our mobile hot-spot is the business line so if she takes a call she looses wi-fi. We're figuring it out, looks like we can at least get Google Calendar to work offline for the time it takes on the phone.
