You're a bit too stuck on this corn rowing thing. If you read the latest IICRC study they do not know what causes it. It's all speculation. As for CRB's causing it, I call bull crap. I cleaned thousands of homes using my CRB with soft brushes and have not had 1 issue. The times I have seen it happen, it was preexisting.
agreed

I'v only seen it on crap "California Berber"

I loved my Rotovac XL, but I was beginning to have a lot of issues with it, so I had to park it. I may try and pick up a T-REX.

I’ve never once pointed it out when it wasn’t there.

As I was lying in bed last night, awake and needing to get up and go pee, it occurred to me that I’m usually far ahead of current trends and tend to be a harbinger of things to come, so I’m most likely calling what I see “corn rowing” when it doesn’t technically fit the definition that the iicrc has for it. Nevertheless, the gapping associated with wear on cut pile carpets is readily apparent on carpets that have been scrubbed with a CRB.

You cannot consistently create corn rowing. It just happens sometimes. I call it a manufacturer defect they blame us cleaners for.
Yes you can
All you have to do is start using a cbm on residential cut pile.
