Agreed he should have made a mint off his mods and innovative thinking.

I don't know the particulars of how or why but its seems that void has yet to be filled if he could step back in. ???

Greenie and I had a few interesting discussions. In many ways he was brilliant, yet had a few misconceptions and didn't understand fully some of the scientific principles involved. If he had continued to learn, grow, and adapt, he would be a very rich man today.

All the principals in the video, like 2.5" hose (for hose runs under 300') and bayco(spence) valves- Les is against now.

The hose, soft touch valve and shear kit is Brisotrs deal and he jacked the glide from Harris... remember the court case.

The only thing that was cool was the Velcro belt.

I was at that show... didn't the inventor of the duk guard have a booth and no patent and got ripped?

in 2007? doubtful.

I remember it was the year Saphire brought out the Stryker wand and square filter box.

I gave my opinion to add a dust downer to the filter box and the Rep looked at me and told me to go fook off- politely.

more like 2010 or 11

I quit going to Connections in 2008.

I saw it there because I went to each and every booth and told them how to improve their products. I Think it was just there and he was in the booth. I'll have to find my old pics to know for sure.

Greenie was an awesome guy man. Don't know too much about what happen to him but he was always willing to help me out and gave great advice.

He also had a ton of ideas and helped the industry out tremendously. IMO.

Greenie was a great guy and as far as I'm concerned (and that's all that counts) was a great asset to the industry. Let's face it, this industry is full of tweekers, glorified janitors and those unfit for the regular work force. I know that's hard to accept but you know it's the truth and it's hard accepting someone that would out think and industry and advance it 20 years. He did it, many of you hated it but use his his advances today, human fookin behavior/nature. My hat will always be off to Greenie & Lisa!

He might have sent you a gunked up wand...but he is right on this.....................for example:

Junk Science plain and simple.

2" hose does NOT have a higher velocity than 2.5" hose.

300 cfm is 300 cfm
, it does not travel any faster through a 2" conduit than it does through a 2.5" conduit, it just travels with LESS friction through the larger conduit, therefor PRESERVING available LIFT at the tool.

It'll be 2020 and we'll still be having this same conversation, and cleaners will still be buying and using 2.5" hose because it WORKS in REAL life.

And Yes, a 2" wand and 2.5" hose would be very impressive for testing purposes, as would a 2.5" wand and 2.5" hose.

Huh? I've never owned a Ti wand, much less sent one to anyone. Perhaps you have me confused with someone else?

Of all those tid bits you produced did any of them stand a chance of going Viral? Or was it just stuff that board geeks spend money on?

I think the complete wand set up could have continued on but all the rest was ultimately at heart for the huge financial drain you guys suffered..

We lost money on every wand we sold through a distributor, same with the metal joiners and wyes, valves and such. In order to make a profit enough to make it worthwhile for both manufacturer and distributor, they would have to have sold for too high a price on the retail end. We weren't going to go to China for production, we wanted to make it US made by family businesses, and overseeing Chinese production and quality is WAY too problematic.

Maybe if we had a great stash of working capital or working credit to get larger production runs and buy raw materials in bigger runs, but we didn't. Jeff LOVED to develop and design stuff, but he had no sense as far as the business end. I always said he should have been in a large company's R&D dept., but he would have butted heads there, as he wanted to do what he wanted to do and didn't want any part of control or direction.

I have not heard from him in a very long time and I hope he can find peace and put his many demons to rest and really put his brilliant mind to use and be successful, personally and professionally....but I'm glad that chapter in my life is closed.

There are still several designs kicking in my head for wands and a non-clogging filter box, but I prefer to keep the business at a small enough level that I can warehouse and run it from the home base. Larger items like wands, hose and such require a warehouse, palleting and such and I can't do that at this point in my life.

Take care,
Lisa

My memory is a bit clouded as to how he and Mytee got in cahoots together. It was Jeff's idea to have them show up at a Mikeyfest unannounced with a Sprinter van full of give aways one year.

Up to that point Mytee was not on any of the boards and had a less than favorable reputation. Also, when did Mytee start up with the Banana Glides? before or after that fest?

Jeff put them on the virtual map, thats for sure. Funny thing is, he really hated them at one point...I just can't recall how it all played out.
