Just wondering who some of you use for workers comp insurance? I contacted my ins broker and he told me my only option as a cleaning business is State Fund.
Who are you using for Workers Comp?

My agent shopped around and I could have had Hallmark, State Fund and Preferred Employer (or employee.)
For my company Preferred Employer was the most advantageous for me.

What do you pay? My rate is 2.35% of payroll and about 850 a yea\r for me. No great hell, as I just had a claim last year. I did get top dog Doctors, excellent rehab, meds paid, etc. The money side sucked as all I can insre for is $30,000 max, but it's tax free.

- We pay about 10% of payroll here.
- And owner can't be insured.

Traveler's, we had the Hartford for years but they dumped us.

We use ADP. It is built into our payroll. We monitor nothing on a weekly basis.
Twice a year we get an adjustment. Painless.
If a mistake is made they pay the penalty.
Officers do not have to be covered in Indiana. Keeps my cost down.

Everyday is Saturday.
Hartford just notified us that we will not be able to renew, we have never even had a claim before. Now we have to shop it again.

That is too bad. Insurance companies never heard of one laying people off. They just rake it in.

Had the same thing happen to me. Its sad they can just take our money for all those years and can just drop us for no reason.

Chris I'm a sole prop. and I carry it. Unless your talking about insuring yourself? But if you have employees and are a sole prop. you can get it here. I use The Hartford.
So a Sole Prop can technically hire an employee and protect themselves.

Is there problems if you work between states. I am on the nj pa border and i do jobs in both states. I am starting up again this time i want to go legit i need to know where i can get both insurance and bonding any suggestions

Tom I work for the largest Midwestern based insurer and clean part time. We closed 14 offices and layed off 700 people to cut overhead due to the competitive market.

I guess my view is just here in Indy. Big Blue seems to never have problems.
