I thought you were going to retire and move to Florida and live in your condo?? Are you going to clean Carpets in the area of your retirement home also?

Do us a favor Mr. Sutley, upload your pictures with the full size button please and that way we can just tap on a picture to enlarge it and tap on it again to shrink it back in.

Thank you,

Love, love, love my Cleanco...... But why in the heck did they decide to go with such a small solution jug? Easy fix.... I extended the solution tube, and got a Prochem 5 gal, and put it in front of the wheel well. You know, that little space in front of the water pond...... The 5 gal jug fits perfectly........

Very nice Marty, Cleanco has endured many copies of their original design by all of the major manufacturers. Looks like they are still at the top of the heap.

I remember when the Canadian companies were a major force in this industry.
Lee,
If I remember correctly, Cleanco was the originator of the van powered truchmount. You are correct that they were Canadian owned and sold machines here as well. Cleanco had some financial issues in the late 1970's which led to Bill Meshua ( the founder of Butler) leaving Canada and starting the Butler Corp in Ludlow, MA. We purchased one of the original Butler when they were operating out of A three car garage behind the founders home. Bob Roy was the service and installation guy and the only employee for a while.

We still have one of the most original PTO biulders in the Vancouver area. His name is Jim Miller and his units are JEM clutch driive systems. He has his own machine shop and hand builds each unit. They have a reputation for being hot, simple to use and reliable. I haven't seen Jim for a while but I should make a point of dropping by his new shop. I grew up using Jims machines and can attest to their power and simplicity. Jim must be in his 80's by now but I hear he is still going strong.

Am I mistaken in my belief that the AquaTech units out of Kelowna preceded the Cleanco CDS machines?
anyone (Lee) know when the Bates Big Red came on the scene........?
I was just a kid with a young family struggling to get by, and I forgot to take notes. I had a treasured stack of Installation and Cleaning Specialist magazines that I devoured in the early 1970's well before the Internet. Theresa and I sought out distributors when visiting anywhere. Sometimes like visiting isolated islands, but always came away with something really new.

Saw our first well laid out TM working on a job in Sault Ste Marie ON in 1974. He said he'd had it a couple of years. A bit of a letdown coming home to a trusty bonnet machine and early Steamex portable soaker.

A family of seven redheads....and yet, NO we never had a Big Red. I certainly heard of them.

edit: the steamex was red, with a cool clear wand, does that count?

I think so. I beleive that aquatech was developed by an associate of JEM and was modeled after a cleanco. I could be wrong. Interesting that Butler came from Cleanco. Their current units remind me of the Cleanco Classic units.
