We just bought this today. It took a while to setup everything on our own, but it is a pretty cool tool. My problem, and this may even make us have to not use this, is the scheduling part. It allows a customer to select a time and you can set durations on how long it takes to clean and then driving time, but its such weird times. 8:40 to 9:30.

Does anyone know if you can setup times on it to be able to say we will be here between this time and this time instead of oh the cleaning is from 8:40 to 9:30am. I'll have to call and ask tomorrow if no response on here tonight. I've been playing with it all damn day and can't figure that out.

Will - Alternatively you can set it up to be in blocks of time. Ie. 10,12,2 and 4 or something like that. Any set increments can be done., but it must be consistent. You can set what ever hours you want to work. You just have to let me know what you want to do and I will change it on my end. Please call me tomorrow. I changed http://demo.fittlebug.com for you to see what it might look like. Use 60174 and pick as many of anything that you want, then click schedule and see how it displays the options. It can be set up to be down to the minute or blocks of time increments. See the example below if 2 hour blocks. Call me tomorrow. Steve

You're even responding at night? That's awesome! Thanks I'll look into this and call you tomorrow. Other than that, a little html coding I did to the page is making it look awesome. I actually have been looking for something similar to this for a while, a web designer offered to build a form for us like this for $900. Yet, it wasn't going to schedule appointments, etc. just send an email to us to respond back to them. Of course we turned that down. I'm thinking I might even just redirect our sub domains we use like carpetcleaninginlasvegas.com to it so customers aren't typing in the fitterbug address each time if they aren't clicking on some icon on our site.

The Start time 840 is based on your programed commute time from either your start time of the day or the end time of the appointment before this current appointment. The end time is the estimated time the service will take based on the times you programed for each service or task.

There is Not a single business or service that runs Exactly on Time! Thats why we call the customer when we are on our way.
FB even sends out a comfirmation email were you can give the customer info on how to prepare for your visit.
We Have to actively manage all online bookings and we often make adjustments to their time..

The main benefit is that FB allows the customer to book 24/7 and helps keep customers from going to your competition.

From what I can see you will still have to go in and manually shift things around to have it make sense for your schedule. In that case why not just use a basic form on your site with a place they can choose a few options to schedule. Also I noticed there was not a % fee of each job listed in your charges. Did you drop that or fail to mention it?

David - I think this is question is for me (?) - You don't have to change anything in your schedule if you don't want to change anything. Forms are the digital equivalent of voice mail. They don't complete the process they only continue it. Plan A that we offer is a flat license cost and has no % of transaction. Plan B we created to assist is an option with a lower cost and a %. Let me know if this answers your questions....

So what plan is the MB special? Does that have the % fee attached?
David - Sorry, the MB plan is Plan A reduced 25% (down to $150) for the first year with NO Set up Fee and No Transaction %. If you desire to collect a deposit at the time of booking( most clients do) then you will need PayPal "Pro". Paypal fee is 30/mo and about 2.9% . So if you were requiring a 10% deposit on a $200 bookings, the PayPal fee would be 2.9% on $20. Let me know how I can help.

I am concerned that we may lose valuable time in poor travel routes (going from the western most part of our service area to the eastern most part then back to the western) perhaps causing late arrivals, cancelations, anger stuff, ??? We like to have control over what jobs we put where. Still an interesting concept. Hope to hear more reports from users.

Steve - Each zip code can be adjusted to reflect a different travel time. Think of it this way... how long does it take to get from the farthest left service area to the farthest right side service are and back to the office. That's the travel time that I would make those far away zip codes that you choose to service. NO one likes to sit around and wait for any service person (especially those damn cable guys that say AM or PM). That's a half a days work for digital mom. The better that you understand how long it takes to do things, the more accurate you will be with times.... BUT until you do error on the side of longer travel times to get to appointments. I hope that this helps. The program does not make a service provider late. At the end of the day a service provider has to ask him/herself... do you want the ability to allow them to have a better working relationship with your company or do you want your competition. Today Google and others make it really easy to find ALL service providers they may be interested in talking to in one aggregating search.

And remember that you can also do BLOCKS of Time... like start at 9:00 AM and go every three hours; so 9,12,3 . This of course might have you sitting in your truck after the small jobs and rushing the larger ones. (which is why we did it the way we did it). BUT - you could do it; or if you run multiple trucks - send the other truck.

We decided to give this a go.... here's some details on our results so far.. 2 jobs booked since launching only 3 days ago. Total of those jobs is a bit over $300. (Fittlebug cost $150/month with this MB promo deal). For us, spending $150 a month on something hits the budget a little more than we want. So if it wasn't working we'd be getting rid of it. So far - it has paid for itself. We were actually not expecting to book anything for a week or 2 until we start heavily promoting it on facebook etc. so that's pretty cool.

The people that booked paid the deposit we require of $25, which is also interesting. I didn't think many of our customers, or new customers would be down with giving their CC online and taking a deposit, but it looks like people don't mind it so far. I'm guessing this is because people feel more secure using paypal then just entering it onto your site. Steve gave us a link to the analytic page to see our unique visitors. The unique hits are pretty decent and are all from our service locations. The referral path these people are using to get to our fittle page is actually coming from our website "Get a Quote Now" button we have. It's actually decreased our emails asking, "how much for...." since they are seeing it online in real time.. I'll have better next landing page results from our own google webmaster tools soon. Even if people aren't booking, least they are being able to select different services and see the total price for all of those services, etc. for future decision making.

I'm promoting it first to current customers. These people know our service, what the prices are, etc. and would probably be more likely to book than a new person that still wants to know more about our service, more likely they would be calling us first. The booking in different zip codes doesn't really affect us, since we are running more than 2 trucks. Basically, just adjust the schedule so each truck stays in the same area, less than 20 minutes travel time between jobs.

The look of it is really pretty cool. http://naturaldry.fittlebug.com(use zipcode 89147 if you check it out). We customized a couple of html codes to get our logos in there, some other images, etc. Like how it lays out the categories for what you offer. The discount or promo codes you can setup I think will work really well with how we want to promote it. Another cool part, it's mobile friendly. We added an anchor text link to our fittle page to give us an extra backlink to help with SEO.

Because we are a bit iffy of our customers not wanting to click on a link that doesn't go directly to our site, we have started promoting it on facebook as an "Offer" type post. This way they don't see the naturaldry.fittlebug.com link but instead see "Get offer" or "Book Now". We will see if this matters or not (the link not being directly to our site) as we keep testing it in the future. We do want it to look as much as possible that this online scheduling is an integrated part of our site, and not something separate ya know. Maybe in the future as fittle grows, it would integrate directly into the site some how where we could send customers to fittlebug.naturaldry.com. Now it's just getting customers in the routine of booking online all the time.

The Deposit Feature: Good idea. If they cancel within our 24 hour period, we keep the $25 deposit. Because we don't take credit cards over the phone to book appointments, this should be a decent way to help cut back on last minute cancellations, because they know they paid the deposit. Right now we are servicing approx. 130-140 residential monthly. That means we are answering the phone at least 130 times a month to schedule, on top of the "Free Quote" calls. If this program can cut back on that call volume by even 10% that is a win. And more spare time for us.

I think fittlebug is a small business/company/app still since Steve is the person who has direct contact with us. He is excellent at getting back to us asap or fixing any issues that (I) may have messed up. Example: I missed a few zip codes and had 3 phone calls from people trying to access the fittle page saying, "it says you don't service our area, do you?" and we do. I called Steve, and minutes later it was fixed. Seriously, Steve, thank you for helping us getting this going. Looking forward to the upcoming month(s) results. So far, awesome program.

Update: now we are up to $1,000 worth of bookings online. I bought the domain www.naturaldryonline.com and forwarded it to the fittlebug registrar so customers wouldn't have to see or type in the naturaldry.fittlebug.com link. Instead, looks like our own branded site. Pretty cool and better than the quote I got from webdesign companies here in Vegas for $3,500+ to develop something similar. Most wanted $95 an hour, and I wanted something much simpler than fittle., and they said it would still be 15 to 20 hours of work. Win, win. Reason I love this board, you come across cool stuff.

Ok this is my last update about this! I had a friend recommend setting up an iframe code on our site to put fittlebug into it. (As mentioned above my biggest thing was for the naturaldry.fittlebug.com link to not show) as we wanted it to look as if it was apart of our site. Well we did it! Check it out: http://www.naturaldry.com/Book-Online.html use zip code 89147. Now instead of linking it from that domain I bought, it is directly on our site.

@smastio - how much flexibility is there in the pricing structure set up? I was checking out Will's and I am concerned that people won't realize their master suite with a sitting area is actually 2 rooms, or that their Family/Great room is also oversized, in addition to a finished basement. We price stairs per stair, and add on for landings, walk in closets etc. We charge extra for loose back pillows on couches and sofas. All this stuff often get's "missed" if I don't talk to people and ask specific questions. It can make a huge difference in the price.

Make me VERY nervous to say the pricing is guaranteed to be correct. Because if my clients used this as it's set up for Will, they would all be wrong. (I thought I saw language similar to that in his first link, but it doesn't seem to be there in the newest one that is integrated into his site).

I'm interested in trying this out, but not if this is the only format available.

Meg - How are you? The short Answer is: VERY Flexible! I have clients that call options to choose:
  • small room
  • small room Up to 150 SQ FT
  • Areas (one = 150 SQ FT)
  • Gold Package, etc.
  • Stairs 1-9, then per cost of stair
  • landing 4 X 4
  • landing 6X6
  • 7 ft. sofa (loose back)
  • 7 ft. sofa (cushions attached)

Me too! Every FittleBug client should have Terms and Conditions consistent with their business rules. This is easy to do. It's really no different than if some over the phone told you that the room was X, only to find out that it was Y. You have that conversation. The FB order is based on the consumers understanding of their request and should obviously be reviewed before cleaning to verify. You do that now right? The deposit is whatever you want it to be and just intended to secure the time they want so no one else will take it.

Here's an example of one of my clients:
Disclaimer: All bookings will require a $30 deposit, which will be forfeited if you violate our cancellation or change policy. All Invoice will have a 4% health care tax added to them. One area equals approx. 150 square feet; Areas and Combined living areas may be considered as 1.5 areas or more depending on size and degree of soiling. $150 Job minimum required for Jobs in San Francisco and Daly City: $175 minimum is other cities. Pretreatment for severe Pet Odors and stains may incur an additional cost. Bathrooms, halls, staircases, large walk in closets, and area rugs are priced separately. Upholstery cleaning prices are subject to change, based on the degree of soil, loose cushions, and fabric. Air duct cleaning prices will be determined during the Inspection and Training Appointment. The cleaning will be performed during a different Appointment time. Dryer vent cleaning prices are subject to change based on where your exhaust termination exits your home and how assessable it is to get to your dryer and exhaust vent.
