This an active live campaign we have ran since we started and not in theory {marty}.

Construction projects can be a nice niche marketing campaign, mainly for floor work. 95 % of the jobs for us anyway are floor work/tile, not general clean up work but cleaning, sealing and staining tile/grout or scrub/wax new VCT installs {which are very profitable BTW}.

Its pretty easy actually, buy a list or google all the general contractors in your area and either call/mail or stop by and visit. All your goal is to be put on their vendor list for the services you provide. When the need comes up the project manager just calls off the vendor list.

The pros
Only costs about $100 and maybe a day of work to be put on all these lists
You can specifically state what projects you do and what your specialty is
High Profit
Little competition for specialty work
We are called at the end of the job and they will not get paid until it is pretty and customer ready, most cases we are such a tiny tiny cost of the job.
Once in awhile you catch a nice govt job and can pay your crew $40 hour :eekk:

The cons
Generally an office nazi is going to want insurance and W-9
They call at the last minute
Can be a little pricky so if you are offended easily dont bother
Have to ask about payments terms, some are absurd and we will not do it but others will cut a check in a couple weeks for misc job like us. 60 day is our limit

The annual revenue has been all over the place. We turn away tons and tons of jobs every year, mainly the really big VCT jobs. I love the smaller vct jobs though under 10k sqrs ish, once you get into walmart size its ugly.
