I think it was Bill on here who 1st turned me on to this stuff.

By far the highest quality, easiest to apply silicone "caulking" available.
RTV and available in three textures/ finishes and most importantly, available in every grout color and Benjamin Moore and Sherwin Williams paint hues.

It's pricey but pass the cost along ($30ish a tube)

I watched two painters caulk, mask and paint the gap under some baseboards yesterday. Hours of work for a shitty end result. This product is a no brainier

Good caulking requires a "touch" that many (MOST) don't have

but a couple questions from a "Handyman", Big Slim

why the need for 100% RTV silicone on any molding?

and what happens if Mrs Phiff want's a new paint color in a few years?
You tearing it out?.....cause paint won't stick to RTV silicone.

the next "handyman" that's hired to paint the molding will be cussing the "professional" gOOber that smeared non paintable gOOp on any paintable surface

oh yeah, here's a "handyman" tip.....and don't smear much goop on the molding while wiping/fingering smooth regardless of the color match....cause there's a strong likelihood the sheen won't match and will be noticeable in certain lighting

Just like SGA, be damn f'n sure your can live with the color and application for a life time

Out west normal people stick with Swiss Coffee baseboards forever.

Its only you flyover homebound freaks who remove baseboards to replace with ugly ass waynescoting or how ever you spell it

We just use it in bathrooms, Ive never used it for baseboards. If its not a wet environment just use regular caulking.
