I just did one with dark edges that I took to be filtration.
Now I think that the tack strips were left wet by whoever was there before.

I had a call like that once. Lady calls me on a Sunday, had the carpets cleaned on Thursday. She asks me should the carpets still be wet? I tell her no and since I am in the area, I would like to stop by and have a look. I bring in my moisture tester thinking I will find a little dampness. Not necessary, the carpet was still wet to the touch. They also cleaned a pink velour sofa. I lifted the cushions up and they were moldy on the bottom. The companies name was Dynamite carpet cleaning. They blew that one up good.
